Policies

Please come prepared to each session with your textbook, class notes, any study guides provided by your teacher, a pencil with eraser, paper (lined/graph, as needed), protractor/compass (if needed for the current work) and calculator. 

If this is an online course or your textbook is on a tablet or laptop, bring that as well (along with a power cord and log-in information). IT WOULD ALSO BE BENEFICIAL IF YOU COULD GET AN ACTUAL BOOK TO BRING ALONG -- IT'S MUCH EASIER TO TUTOR FROM THAT RATHER THAN THE LAPTOP.

If possible, you should bring any recent tests or quizzes that you have completed. It would also be very helpful if the teacher could provide a syllabus and a schedule of what chapters/sections will be covered when & in what order. At the very least, you should find out from your teacher and let me know what topic/section/chapter will be covered after the current one so we can work ahead if time permits. 

When there is no school due to snow (or other inclement weather), tutoring is NOT automatically cancelled. Many (if not most) of my students come for tutoring anyway so as not to miss a whole week and fall further behind. We can always use that time to do some extra practice, go back over old tests, etc. If you wish to cancel your session, please let me know first thing in the morning to avoid late-cancel or no-show fees. 

The same policy applies for other "no-school" days due to individual holidays, special schedules, teacher in-service days, etc. Please let me know at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled session if you do not plan to attend. Thanks for your understanding! 

If you cancel a session with less than 24 hours notice, there is a $25 fee (except in the event of illness). If you fail to show up for a scheduled session with no notice, you are responsible for the full cost of the session.
