ACT Prep FOR math

  • It's best to start tutoring 2-3 months before the test.  Practice is the most important thing you can do!
  • Get a book that has several practice tests. 
  • Try to work at least one practice test per week (don't worry about the time limit at this point), but don't GUESS at any answers. 
  • Check your answers against the key provided, then try to figure out how to do the ones you missed. 
  • Bring to me the ones that you didn't know how to start along with the ones you couldn't figure out how to do correctly even after you saw the right answer (or ones that you DID eventually get right, but it seemed really hard/involved -- there may be an easier way to do the problem).
  • Below are some actual tests from previous years that you can start with.

ACT Review Book

 One option is  "The Official ACT Prep Guide 2019-2020". 

This book  provides detailed explanations for every answer and practical tips on how to boost your score on the English, math, reading, science, and optional writing tests.
